Playgrounds Update

6/15/2020

Good Afternoon! I wanted to give a update on our parks and facilities.

Effective immediately, all city owned playgrounds are now open.  However we need to all work together and take the following precautions for the safety of our community.

I am going to recommend that everyone using our facilities, wear masks and try to use social distancing as much as possible. The coronavirus is as much or more of a threat as ever, so people should act appropriately. Science has shown that mutual wearing of even loose masks reduces transmission of the disease significantly.

Kids and parents are in need of recreation, and if they can behave in a manner that protects them from COVID-19, I am happy for them to enjoy our playgrounds. That said, our doctors have warned time and again about the contagiousness of coronavirus. So we ask parents to fever check their children and themselves before they come out.

I would also recommend using sanitizer before and after use.

Basketball Courts remain closed until further notice, as the City awaits further guidance from the State.

The Centerton Splash Pad under construction and we are still 30-45 days out from completion but we will keep everyone updated.
