Open Position - Planning Commission


A position is open on the Centerton Planning Commission to serve until June 30, 2021; after which, the position may be extended for a 3-year term. The City of Centerton is accepting applications until Friday November 20, 2020 (5:00 PM). Applicant must live within the incorporated city limits or planning area of the City of Centerton. Regular meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 6:00 PM of each month with compensation pay of $150 per meeting. Applicants will be interviewed by the Mayor, Planning Director, and Planning Commission Chairman, or their designees. The Mayor will present recommendation to the City Council for appointment to the Commission. Interviews will be set up by virtual meeting.


General Purpose of the Planning Commission is to:
(1) Prepare, or have prepared, a plan of the municipality;
(2) Receive and make recommendations on public and private proposals from development;
(3) Prepare and administer planning regulations;
(4) Prepare and transmit to the legislative body recommended ordinances implementing plans; and
(5) Advise and counsel the city government and other public bodies.
